First Training session on how to write high quality EHC plans using the ICF

As part of the second phase of the project, we held our first training session on how to write EHC plans using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). The session was delivered at Roehampton University on the 13th of July 2016 and was attended by 25 participants, who are professionals from different backgrounds representing 3 London Local Authorities that participate in our study. The impact of the training session on writing high quality EHC plans is being studied; however excellent feedback was received by the majority of participants;  for example, among the 23 participants who completed the evaluation forms, 20 think the ICF matches the new SEND Code of Practice and 20 or more think it can be very helpful to support multi-agency working and the development of more individualised and detailed descriptions of children's functioning.
